As promised herewith the new pics.. I tried to create a more sloping effect by increasing hight on both sides of the aquarium.. (it's being held back by black slate) this black slate will be not visible after planting.. What do you think dutchy..(more hight?)

I think the height is ok but the big stone on the left attracks more attention than the path to the back in the middle. Do you have a little bit smaller one? You can push the slate a little bit more downward until it's almost not visible.

Maybe if i place some plants in front of the stone it will be less destracting to the path!

Here a small update regarding my scape.. diatoms are still present but after 2 weeks i think it’s getting better…

Plant growth is not that good.. the hygrophile polysperma that normally needs trimming every week is still adjusting and is showing signs of deficiency.

The new planted blyxa japonica is melting on the bottom of the plant.. downoi is melting..

So hopefully the plant growth will pick up soon..

Schedule :

Tuesday: Cleaning the tank, 50% water change, 25ml profito, no3
Wednesday: po4, easycarbo
Thursday: no3, 20 ml profito
Friday: po4
Saturday and Sunday : Nothing
Monday: profito : 20 ml.

Co2: 40 + mg/l

Target values no3: 20-30 mg/l
Po4: 0,25 – 1,0 mg/l (because of diatoms)

Lights : 2 x 28 watt : 9 hours a day.

Any advice?

Herewith a pic…

I have to say the overall pic looks nice.

If Blyxa and downoi are melting you can be sure there's a CO2 deficiency. Mind that the wood releases a lot of tannins, which lower pH. This lower pH can not be related to CO2 ppm's.

Result is that you might have a lot less CO2 than you think.

I also have a lot of wood in my tank. The CO2 level is theoretically at 100 ppm..... The drop checker says I have around 40 ppm. If I use a pH which gives me a theoretical 40 ppm the plants will melt.

Thank you for your reply Dutchy! I have the co2 long term test from Dennerle.. it's pretty yellow..
(maybe 2much co2)?

Most of the plants slightly moving by the current of the filter.. (so i think i'm good there)

maybe i have to be patient and wait for a few weeks 2 see what's happening..

Plants are never limited by high CO2, unless you can go higher than 10.000 ppm... :)

Blyxa is a weed if it gets enough CO2, but will melt if not...

Remember that light is also a player here. Your yellow drop checker might still be not enough. Your plants tell you exactly what they need.

I'd add more CO2 or lower light.

Ok.. will try both options.. (i thought that 2 x 28watt is not heavy lighting for this size tank)

will keep you informed!

Thanks Dutchy!
