I found this growing smack in the middle of a Tonina Belem (one that I got from Tom's plant trimmings tub at the open house last Saturday). It was in the middle of the 3-4 branches of one plant of T. belem. I thought at first it was some thread algae as I've found a little recently elsewhere in the tank but then saw it was not a single strand but a branching, almost plant-like growth. Is this an algae? A moss? A plant? (This is two photos of the same thing)

It looks like a Myriophyllum sp.

It's Chara, nice little FW macro algae, you have a fairly desirable and not so stinky species there.

Sure, it can get a bit weedy, likely came in from Guy's place which has it in the plant tanks.
