Algae/fungus ID

[Soggy]

guys, a friend of mine is having some weird growths on the gravel of dry start HC setup.

Looks fluffy, is it fungus? or bga?

Hes worried it might take over his tank when its time to flood.

Did you ever get this fungus problem figured out...Im having a similar problem...

I evaporated some of the water by allowing the tank to sit uncovered while I kept an eye on it.

Im also going to try adding some Flourish Excel to my spray bottle. It seems to act as such a great algacide underwater I figure I might give it a try...
