Hello Tom,
Is this another myth?
As I understand, plants make enough oxygen at root level to feed the bod of the microbial processes that fix nutrients for them.
Is there any specific studies in the topic?
I've this "planted hob" thread and a member is suggesting to use an airstone in the hob to improve the root oxygenation of the emersed plants growing in it. Or something like that. This is it:
"....This is for plants in shower caddies and DIY mesh,
Airstone is actually submerged in gravel, with bubbles escaping up to roots to keep them oxygen rich. Other things being equal, the oxygen helps in the redox rxtns needed for nutrient uptake and growth....."
Thanks!
