Air pumps that will last at least 2 years.

Hello,

I am using Whisper pumps and one of them is kaput while the other one is almost kaput. Do you guys know air pumps that will last at least 2, 3 years?

Penn Plax as a company didn't exist when this pump ruled!

These little Giant air pumps, packed with sand! as a sound deadener, were the standard of the industry for years and years. In the sixties they were just about the only serious air pump stocked by aquarium shops.
Penn Plax as a company didn't even exist then!
Trouble free, they ran forever. you were more likely to damage them by dropping them on the floor than wearing them out!

Have had pretty good service from Luft pumps with sponge filters. The Whisper pumps seldom lasted a year with continuous operation.
I might add that the Luft pumps are quite a bit more expensive and they are about as loud as the Whisper pumps but they last much longer.

Yep, Luft are expensive. Right now, I can't decide between Rena and Optima.
