ADA AS and ferts

I was wondering that when we say we should use fert from day 1 in aquariumsif, and we know that ADA AS has NH4 in it, should we then use ferts from day 1?
What happens to the NH4 component in the AS if we fert NO3 as we do?
Will that cause algae ? (the NH4 of course).
