48" TEK 8 bulb T5 light fixture

There is a craigslist offering for this fixture in my area. 4 month old ati bulbs, "good working order". They have named their price or Best offer.

I don't want to offer too low and be ignored. How much should I offer ? Any known issues with this fixture ? easy to replace parts ?

Thanks,
Justin

Tek Lights are great. The quality is fantastic. The aren't being made any more, unfortunately. You should get it. How I figure "used" prices are find out the "new" price and figure half. Remember bulbs can be expensive, too

I got it for $225. It came with Aqua Blue Plus, Purple Plus, and Aqua Blue Special bulbs. Im not sure if this bulb combo will look rite though. He was using it over a reef tank. I got these par readings from Tom's journal too. ;)

Measured the light again and reduced the height of the fixture from 16 to 12" above the water .
60umol along the bottom.
Added all bulbs: 120 umol

over a 48x30x18 tank.

so that would be 30" above substrate if I want to play with that level of light.

Now that I got that out of the way Ive put in some hours learning use of co2 and building a reg. Im confident I could easily put one together but the cost...

Im thinking about these two parts for a co2 regulator

A Swagelok regulator. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Parker-1-8-Stainless-Steel-HR-Precision-Metering-Valve-2F-H3L-V-SS-TC-/130939454731?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e7c99850b

I like the idea of using that metering valve with a Aquatek mini regulator though instead.

The person to ask about that is MattF. He is our in house reg builder.

That light puts out a lot of PAR I promise you!

The reg is a very nice single stage Reg.
