The cabinet cuts out 2ft of the front of the tank. Hard to get a decent pic of this tank.

Tank is about on it's 4th week after total tear down.
Gerry's tank had a similar approach used with the wood and the plants.

That explains why it looked so shallow in the pics posted in Gerry's thread. When you said 350 I was thinking "Wha?"
Looks nice though. A scape like this might have worked out nicely in the rimless tank. Is that crypt parva behind the stauro? Looks like it.

Yes, the prava will fill in but it'll be awhile, same for the Anubias.
This tank grows nice and slow........but that's the point, and as it ages, this will only look nicer.
You get to see a lot of the wood now, but as the plants grow, it'll be covered somewhat and the tank will evolve.

Looks awesome!

Righto Tom - lay it on us - the facts - lighting, filtration, filtration media, ferts, CO2, circulation....

Scott.

I was hoping people would complain about the lack of golden ratio, no scaping rules being used...... or something:)

Light is 8x 54W t5's, wet/dry filter+ Ehiem 2260, media is sponge and lava, CO2 mist(to be changed to reduce murkiness somewhat), 2000gph additional flow on top of the ehiem and the Iwaki pump return(about 1000 gph), so about 3500 gph.

Tom forget about the Golden Ration that is an awesome scape! I finally got your wood via Gerry in my tank soaking and I'd say its about 3/4 absorbed. Cant wait to play with it and see what it looks like. The pieces I got from Gerry and long. My tank is tall. I got a great idea but will play with it before I scape it. I learned a lot from the day spent with you and Gerry. Was a very worth while experiece!

The stem plants in the back look out of place to me.
But they might be your "temporary” fast growers to help stabilize?

Is this your tank? I'm curious because of the filter choice, that 2260 is not like your style.

Stems are not done yet in this tank, it's only 1 month old, it's a client's tank, not mine.

Reminds me of oriental flower pattern on fabric. In a good way I mean. :)

I would take that as art, not in a bad way.

So this is the 350g congo tank I guess. A school of Altums might also look nice.

Who's "people"? Don't blame me!! I managed to keep quiet ;)
But anyway it's very simple. Do you see the "bridge"? It's right in the focal point for this tank. Just open it up underneath and create a path to the back with the stauro. :gw (Sorry for the bad quality mods)

Now be honest and tell me this looks actually better ;)

Hi Dutchy, honestly?

Yes, you are correct.
The tank looks somewhat different now, I've opened it up and added more plants, the Starou is thickened up.
"Red" Ludwigia is taking nicely and some other plants from my 120 do well. I will likely stick with the Starou design you suggest though since it goes well with the changes I have planned.

Oh hell, they would kill those fish in a week. Discus, maybe 2-3 weeks.

That's the issue.
