Leftc,

I have seen that before. Isn't a carp if I remember correctly?

Nice fish. Would it fit in my goldfish bowl?

I don't know if it is a hoax, carp or what. If it is a real goldfish, I'd think that it would weigh more than 30#.

Yahoo sent it to me today in their current news. But, when I went online to find out more, it was old news like you said.

You could put that fish in your swimming pool and ride it around. LOL.

I had a pet "skate" at the beach one time. I know that you know that a skate is like a stingray, but it doesn't have a stinger. Some old guys were seining and caught it. They were going to kill it because they thought it was a stingray. I showed them that it didn't have a stinger and I asked if I could have it. They gave it to me and I went in the water with it. It was a rather big skate. I held on to its tail and it pulled me around all up and down the beach for hours. For some reason, it didn't head out to deeper water. It was like having a little motor pulling me. I finally let it go. That was a bunch of fun with that skate. I was probably 10 or 11 at the time.

That doesn't look like a goldfish to me except for the color. Lol, I have goldfish and they do not look like that and yes it looks heavier than 30 pounds.

Aquarium goldfish are carp. They grow big given enough time, food, and space. In Europe they are widely sought as gamefish. Europeans' large mouth bass. Some say they taste good.

I think the same guy that painted this giant butt, er ... peachoid water tower, painted that fish using the same colors of paints.

Although this is an old post, it made me laugh and I should correct this.

First of all it isn't fake!!

I'm a carp angler myself and know the angler who caught the fish, Raphaël Biagini. It is indeed a carp, also known as koi and is probably set free after it had outgrown someones pond. I estimate this carp of being over 30 pound indeed but do not know the exact weight. Raphaël caught many big carp, with even carps of over 70 pound. For anyone interested, see the site blow. It is in french, but the pictures speak for themself.

Just needed to correct this, sorry!

Koi and common carp are the same species. Cyprinus carpio.

Goldfish are a different but related species, Carassius auratus.
