Thank you! Sorry about posting this journal from day 120. Here are the technical data: my tap water kh-2 gh-3 ph ph7,1. I add booster to raise kh to 3 gh to 6

Aquarium size 100x40x55 cm. but i only have 160 liters of water and about 20 more in filters. Substrate manado+black quart.

Light 6x39w (4 pink-purple 2 daylight) 2 start at 7,30 and runs for 5 hours, then another 2 at 8 for 3,5 hours and 2 start at 8,30 AM for 3,5 hours also. Then a 4 hours break and repeat... full blast is about 6 hours/day for a calculated 200 PAR (lot of light)

Filtration: 1 eheim 1000l/h with a 3liter prefilter, 1 sun-sun 1400l/h with a dyi co2 reactor on out hose, 1 surface skimmer

Co2 adition 10 hours a day and a drop to 5,8-6 ph from 7,1 (lot of co2 also)

I use sort of a EI fertilisation solutin made by me. I target for 5ppm po4, 15ppm no3, 1+ fe. I use 3-4 diferent kind of chelators for Fe beacause i had some issues with this...

Water change 50% per week and i dose some kh,gh booster and a double dose of macro/micro after water change. Then i dose from 2 to 2 days...

No that is what my test shows almost all the time. My plant consume alot... i dose 3-4x more that producer recomands. For instance the 15ppm no3 is consumed in 2-3 days. Maybe more beacause i have lot of srimps and fish and i feed them alot...

ludwigia mini red is the red plant near pg.erectus.

Nice looking tank. That's some impressive trimming on the Rotala green.

Is that Rotala sunset in front of the Syngonanthus?

Close (but not too close) to LA
Gorgeous tank and healthy plants!

Please re-post images from Post #5. I can only see one picture.

Your 200 PAR + high CO2 + fast-growing stem plants may be why your tank consumes so much nutrients.

It's difficult to reach balance at 200 PAR, but you seem to have done it. Nice!

Thanks guys! Yes it is rotala sunset sorounded by some s.belem. So far i am in the faze of selecting plants and propagating them. In the middle i have 4-5 red stem species and i will chose only 1. (Rotala butterfly mini, or rotala macranda narrow leaf clasic/varigated, ludwigia peruensis or alternantera renikii mini varigated). So far from this five in best shapre are macranda narrow and lw. peruensis but i have to wait, i only have a few stems so far...

Some older pics. r green pretrim (i had 250 stems), nice pearling etc.

Thank you! Very detailed info, this is great. Can you confirm about your substrate, is that JBL Manado? Alone or mixed with something else? Thanks :)

Substrate is manado mixed with a black quatz from dennerle. I add some easy life root sticks where i intend to plant harder spiecies like belem, pantanal, sunset etc.

Trace mix contains

  1. Fe: 8.2% (chelat)
  2. Mn 1.82% (chelat)
  3. Zn 1.16% (chelat)
  4. B 1.05%
  5. Cu 0.23% (chelat)
  6. Mo 0.15%

We usualy add 40grams of this mix to 1 liter water and the recomanded dose is 1 ml to 40 liters of tank water/day. I should use about 4ml /day but i use 10 ml :)

Thanks for the info, fantastic! Is the trace mix a commercial product? I can't find it online... Is that it's name?

I believe uk taces and this one are the same

However this is what its written on the site :

"add 40 grams of Trace Mix to 1000 ml water and dose 1 ml to 40 litres aquarium water

1 ml dosed to 40 litres of water raises iron level with 0.082 ppm"
