I just added a 1200K bulb to my 20 gal. setup. Is this helping my plants grow or am I just wasting electricity?

Thanks,
Creighton

Almost any light will help plants to grow. So, yes, that light will help. I assume the color temperature is 12,000K and not 1200K, which I don't think exists. The range of color temperatures that work best with plants is 5000 to 10,000K, so the 12,000K isn't ideal, but it will work.
