Now that is red! It is so nuts how hard it is to dial this all in. Been at it years now and I've never gotten that sort of color. I got the substrate, lights, co2, ferts, filtration and my plants just don't grow like that. Your a wonder Mr. Barr:)

What's the large green leaf thing to the left of Pantanal?

Painful as it was, I actually scaled some driftwood for my 120 Hardscape after trying to wing it 10X. I'll keep the plants I have, but add the hardscape next week. The wood is a bit different from my past, but should work well, better than the last rendition with the 2 stumps, sort of a similar thing, but different shaped wood. At some point, I'll have more rocks to work with, but I've just not taken the time out to go collect them just yet. I'll post the hardscape later

Question if you dont mind, how do you create those hills? Do you pile up lava rock or something underneath, or just heaped up AS?

How do you plant erios in the front if there's like little to no sediment?

Heaped AS. The left piece of wood, you cannot see all of it, but I moved it farther towards the rear, I need to add some linear lines in the id and foreground to make the design look decent, otherwise it'll look poorly if I follow the flow of a wood as is.

So the harsscape looks good alone, but once plants go in, not so good, I could make it look great with certain plants, but the plants come 1st in this case. Hardscape is secondary and needs to match up.

About 60% new species this time, but 3 of them came in mush. I am working on other avenues to acquire the species I want still. Sort makes it a PITA, but I have plenty of the other stuff till then.

Looks very natural set up like that almost like a tree the center rotted out of and new life will takes its place =).

It has been a while what's going on with it.

Neglect this last 2 weeks. New research career is starting from the academic side.

But I'm rethinking this tank a bit more, thinking or using most all low growing prostrate species.

It keeps coming back to some of the older combinations I had prior, I do not want a mix up of that. So Dennis will get the wood stumps and I'll need to grow out some more Erios and new Sygnoanthus. I have most all the species less 1-2 rare, rare crypts.

The lower growing plants= less work and better flow dynamics in the wide shallow tank.

I also have a new thur tank prefilter so I need to drill a glass hole through 1/2 glass, this will take a good 10-15 minutes.

But it's a nice overflow and quiet. Then there's the 40 Gallon breeder tank and I'll be able to finely mech filter and run the CO2 more effectively as well.

I know what needs to be done. My motivation has been used for other things for the last few weeks :)

I also have some large projects but those will come in due time.

So some cool new changes and pics will come down the pipe in a few weeks I'd say.

Doing okay, still waiting a bit for some species to grow out and fill in. Still pondering some species changes and adding a larger leaf specimen type sword or Crypt.

Tanks have been neglected but are doing quite well in spite of the neglect. New research job is taking a lot more of my time.
