    Hi Burr,
    Thanks for your answer.

My T5 is Hydrofarm Agrobrite FLP44 Fixture and I have changed with 1xSylvania-Grolux and 3x6500K. Current high from the water surface is 6". I found out that HC carpet plants are going up to instead of walking.

For coloring, I can find only Sylvania brand and have a few choice. Can it be like " 6500K - Grolux - Grolux - 6500K "? Any good combination?

Sylvania also have FHO54W/Coralstar (blue for marine) and FHO54W/Aquastar (10000K) can be used?

    Thanks.
    Pyae

Dont know much about Sylvanias but you'd do well to replace one or two of those 6500Ks with something redder. Doesnt Sylvania make a red flora type something? See if you can grab one or two of those. That blue would do well but you need a lot of red first to balance it out.

HC growing up could be a CO2 thing. It doesnt need monster light to spread flat. It does need good co2 though

    Hi Joe,
Is it possible to measure par just for your Ati purple bulb?
My par meter shows 53 par just for the blue actinic which seems wrong.
If would be right, means that my tank would be medium light if I only had this bulb? o_O
    It's so dim.
    Thanks...

@Greggz did that recently with his ATI purp, it was surprisingly high PAR.

Blues, esp actinics ares strong even though not very bright to the eyes. Also penetrates a lot deeper than reds

Here you go. The Purple plus 2" below the water surface about 12" from the light. Single bulb only.

For comparison, here are some other bulbs tested.

    Plantmax 3000K...................87 PAR
    Trulumen Flora.....................76 PAR
    Powerveg 660.......................55 PAR
    Zoo Med Ocean Sun............89 PAR
    Giesemann Super Flora......108 PAR
    Giesemann Tropic.................95 PAR
    ATI Purple Plus......................80 PAR

Here's a snapshot of the Purple Plus reading with a Seneye meter.

HC reaching up is usually a CO2 issue. Go over 40ppm. I keep mine at and over 45ppm.
