Hello! some time ago when i was experimenting with CO2 my tanks gets a lot of BBA, then i change to a non co2 excel tank and many of the BBA die,...
Here is my tank! it a 5 gallon tanks...
Lighting is a 8 Watts compact fluorescent light around 400 lumens and it is 10 cm above the water level....

i recommend you to look the comment in the non co2 method and EI post! Tom explain that low light with excel or co2 need around 20 ppm of nitrates...
also look my problem! i dose 3ppm of po4 in a week and i have GSA so my tank is telling me that need more PO4!!!
i dose excel so my tank cannot be like diana walstad tanks! also i like faster grow with excel! 4 ppm of no3 weekly? i test my tank with api test...
Urea in small doses dont hurt and make plants grow faster!
