Hi,
I've been using Tropica Plant Nutrition trace, plus DTPA Fe for a while as my trace/iron mix. I want to switch from using TPN to using CSM+B; and now also spike the CSM+B mix with DTPA and Fe gluconate. I have searched this site and others and see wide variation in recommendations for trace and iron dosing, so I'd welcome any feedback on the following mixing strategy as a reality check. My tank is 90gal, Co2.

Below is my intended trace/iron mix, with 30ml dose, 3x/week. I used Wet's calculator for ppm values.

in 512 ml of water (500ml DI water, plus 12ml Excel)
add 3 TBSP CSM+B (this adds .43ppm Fe/dose)
add 1 TBSP DTPA 11% (this adds .22ppm Fe/dose)
add 1 TBSP Fe gluconate 12.46% (this adds .18ppm Fe/dose)

This would add .81ppm Fe per dose, with a total of 2.4ppm Fe/week. Does this look alright? Too high that might lead to problems? Fe gluconate not needed? (I have it in there just to cover all bases).

The above is loosely derived from EI iron recommendations for a 100-125gal tank (.37ppm Fe/dose from CSM+B = 2.8 TBSP trace mix to 500ml water: 30ml dose of that provides .37ppm Fe); but then also adds DTPA and Fe gluconate on top of that in a 3:1:1 ratio.

If I understood it right, Tom's previously indicated dosing about .5-.7 ppm Fe per dose, using something of an 4:1:.5 ratio (CSM+B/DTPA/Fe gluconate)

Thanks very much for any feedback,
