Good morning,

I used to have a lot of DW in my tropical fish 30 BR planted tank. In the last month it is disappearing little by little every day and I do not get any new growth:confused:. All the other plants are doing OK.

EI dosing with extra Iron dosing
Pressurised CO2 "can't count" bps.
2 36W Midday & AquaFlora raised 16" above tank.

Any help with my dilemma ? Thanks folks.

Hi Hallen,

I like it b/c it provides a little shade here and there. Yes, I do use Excel daily to avoid bba.
I know ppl are having trouble getting rid of DW , why am I having trouble growing it ? (open tank)

I've seen cases where excel killed it off. I've also come across it drying out in open tanks with very low humidity in the room. (Which is strange when there is an open tank of water).

Fishes eating it sound more plausible tho :)

What fish do you have. My Rainbows eat it. I often skim it out of one tank and put it in my big tank as a treat. Takes a few days, but every last bit is eaten.

That would be my guess for you too.

is a fish possibly eating it?

Nope. I don't think Tetras, Zebra sand Cardinals can eat that much DW but who knows. Oh, I also keep a clown pleco and 5 Ottos in that tank.

I am going to stop the Excel dosing and see what happens. I am thinking maybe is a light problem b/c a month ago I used 2 layers of of window screen trying to lower the light intensity.
