Hi all,

I currently have a 180 gal aquarium and stand that I will give away for free as long as you come and pick it up :)

The tank is an all glass 72x24x24” with dual corner overflows and is about 15 years old. It is in use now as a FW planted tank. The stand is a black maple stand and is < 1 yr old.

Here is a link to some pics of the tank, stand, and plumbing as of last Oct when I moved:

I will break the tank down for you assuming you commit to this. I will ask for a Paypal deposit of $100 which I will return while you are here. Sorry, but I can’t afford to break it down and then someone renege for whatever reason.

If you want I can include the black fluorite substrate.

The following equipment is currently in use on the tank and is NOT included but offers can be made :)

1. Reef-flo blackfin 3600 gph pump with 2” inlet/outlet. Maybe 6 months of use and is brand new. I have a spare as well that works but is a bit noisy.
2. Nu-Clear mech 533 canister and cartridge (s)- - many spares
3. Nu-Clear bio 540 canister and bio-balls.
4. All the current PVC plumbing if you want it.
5. Current Outer Orbit 72” 3x150 MH fixture. 3-4 years old but works fine.
6. The hardscape including some very nice Manzanita wood.

PM if seriously interested. I live in the Boca Raton, FL area.

I also have a 48" tall and pine stand that I am also willing to part with....

I this the current BR tank? Or another?

Jim

BR 180... I want to concentrate on the new 220 and that is more than enough big tank for me...

I want to get maybe a 45-50 rimless 36x18x18 to replace the 180, and then maybe a small 5-8 gal cube to replace the 48.

Neither tank really takes much effort, but I spend more time viewing the 220 now :)

Later.

ill come down and take it off your hands. :D sent ya a pm

Hi Andy,

PLEASE RESPOND to this thread TONIGHT sometime or I WILL NOT break the tank down. I don't want you to show up for nothing. I am NOT going to ASSUME you will be here as you indicated earlier in the week

I have sent you some PM to confirm you are coming. I am not going to tear the tank down until I get this confirmation.

I can't have it broken down and then you not come for some reason.

I checked my Paypal account as well and see no deposit so I take this as another indication you may not be ready,

I am happy to give away but you must CONTACT ME please.....

Thanks!

Hey,

Andy has responded and I hope will arrive soon. All ready to go....

I have moved it so many times over the years, I could do blindfolded, well maybe :)

And it is gone...................Andy and his family just left....

Seems really wierd not to have the 180 anywhere in the house....

He took the twin T8 4 bulb fixtures as well which will give him a nice low-light tank...

One money pit down, one to go?

Hey Tom,

Actually, 1.74 to go....I have the 48 gal which JJ just reminded me he is taking this Wed along with the fish...except the remaining alestes which will have to go elsewhere....

Wow, only one tank...whatever will I do with my time and $? lol

I was thinking of maybe a 1-4 gal mini-cube for each BR. Bring the tank to the sink for cleaning and maintenance :)

Welcome. Is it running yet? I am curious....glad the ride home went well, apparantly :)

Working a dry start in it with UG atm. Boiling worm castings in the kitchen didn't go so well with the wife. They have a pretty unique smell when boiled lol.

Hi Andy,

Thanks so much for posting! It is great that you have it up and running. It looks nice! I like the manzy as well...the tank has had a lot of manzy in it over the years...

So glad to see it in use!

I had planned a iwagumi using UG, marsilea and some nice rocks I brought back from stone mountain a few years ago, but i left for a week in november and the person i left in charge of the house let the DSM dry out! I bought some wood from Tom for my 75, and winded up getting ALOT more then i planned and figured the 180g was a nice place to put it. Worked out nicely imo. A good freind of mine has about 2 dozen Pteronotropis welaka that are in need of a new home, but im just not sure i want to put those in the 180 due to the co2. Ive never killed anything with co2, but it would suck to have a acident with those in there. Anyways ill post more pics when its grown in more.

peace
