Cabomba and others with same character.

(Actually, Vallisneria too but I still have them in my tank)

Anything that grows faster than I want to be pruning in a low light setup haha. Apart from that I like most of the common plants, even weeds can have their charm if you don't count maintenance.

As far as plants I'd not use in a scape by pure preference there's some. I'm not that fond of Vallisneria either and also Eleo densa since it just becomes a mess after a while. I like the look of Crinums, Apo's and big Echinodorus sp. but I hardly, if ever use them since their so big.

Stinking Riccia(sinking that is), Bladderwort(U gibba), moss of various species, duckweeds, these are true evil because unlike algae, you cannot get rid of them EXCEPT with hard work and manual removal.

Water Sprite (beginner's mistake... my 10g Low light non-co2 turned into a big root mass when I neglected it for a few months), and don't get me started on duckweed! I think I finally have it all removed from my 20g.

Hmmm. I really can not think of any plant that I hate. Surely some are quite common to me and I would not use them much, but that is as far as I can say on this subject.
When they grow well I find all plants to be just beautiful.

I hate polygonum. Many of them are attractive, but they always seem to clash with other plants and look out of place. I kind of get that "houseplant in a fish tank" vibe from them.

Ironically, every plant package I buy seems to have at least one type of polygonum in it!! If I buy a package without polygonum, the seller usually throws in a few as extras. The universe is not kind to me.

amazon swords? care to explain that one? just curious.

yeah, they take up too much room, i cant seem to keep them small no matter how much i trim them, and i find them very difficult to fit into a scape. unless you are doing an amazon biotope, then they sometimes look okay, but there are so many other more interesting plants..

I really like my Amazon Sword plants, especially the way they reproduce (easy to do so, too). But I concur, they do take up a lot of room and are hard to keep compact. I just wish I could keep my bushynose pleco (Ancistrus temminckii) from eating holes in the leaves!

Duckweed
Hornwort

Both grow too fast and suck up nutrients and light meant for nicer plants.

I once had an awful duckweed problem. I went on vacation and my mbuna got hungry and ate it all up.
