Hi everyone,

I recently came across a great deal on a 15 gallon tank. I bought a rimless tank at a LFS here for 20 dollars I couldn't resist taking it home. I have everything I need at home to start the tank but I'm unsure how to filter this properly.

I have two spare filters 2213 and 2215 eheims. Is a 2213 a good filter for this size? the tank will be injected with co2. I feel that the 2213 might be a little to strong. But then again what do I know.

What does everyone here use to filter a tank is size? If I have to, I will buy a new filter.

Thanks,

Based purely on GPH, the 2213 looks fine. I use an XP1 on my 20g, flowing at 250gph minus some extra prefilter and basket media. CO2 gass off is touchy depending on the outlet angle, but otherwise it works well.

Unless the fish are stressing from the current, and the plants are uprooted, strong filtration doesn't hurt. At worst you're making the CO2 gas off faster. Higher filtration means better nutrient distribution.
