Hey guys. Does anyone have any experience with this plant, and has an idea of where I can actually obtain some? I read from some online sources that this plant is carnivorous, so I was curious about the safety of my fish (of any size) if I am to grow this plant. Any other tips or facts would greatly be appreciated. :D

Utricularia will not eat your fish or shrimps regardless of their size.:) It is a small and very pretty plant for a carpet. It "eats" only the micro-organisms in the water.

It takes a little time to start, to adapt in a new aquarium but once it starts it will spread fast. For example, as against HC, utricularia will spread faster.

As we're probably not living on the same continent I cannot tell you where from you can buy it. Sorry.

People sometimes sell UG on the swap n shop forum at TPT forum. You have to check often in order to get ahead of the line to order some though.

Tropica states UG as hard to get started. It advises we use low light for 5wks. If I float pennywort above it should this help shade it in my tank?
I was wanting to plant it on nylon screen so it can be moved to a bigger tank later.
I pic I saw of the plants that will arrive next week look like they where just in soil. The tropica article says to use either core or rock wool to help bind it till established. I can't see that in my head and also using the nylon screen. How do I do this. Hope you have some idea I don't.

Thanks but TPT forum sells it every so often that is where I am getting it from. I just am not sure how to use the materials list above. Also not sure if floating something above it will reduce my light enough to start the plant.
I paid $20 for 4- 3x3" pieces.
