Epsom salt + Plantex

I read a thread about mixing Epsom salt and Plantex together in equal amounts. I now use ( Rex's guide ) 1 tablespoon of plantex into 250ml. of water. To add 1 tablespoon of salt to this mix seems like a lot. Is that right ? If my tap water contains enough already will the extra Mg. cause more problems for me ? My 150g is still looking sick, I made all the recomended changes from the other threads.

Not sure what others do but when I dosed csm+b ( I am using flourish at the moment) I would mix a 2 to 1 ratio. Two parts csm to one part epsom salts. I think thats what Greg Watson use to suggest on his website. Csm+b has no mgso4 if I remember right. The reason for adding a bit is that plants need the mgso4 to take up iron or so I have read.

I usually add 1/4 tsp of epsom salts to every 3 gallons of water when I do a water change. My tap water has no hardness at all which is why I do this. This maintains my tanks at around 60ppm GH, otherwise it would be 0.
