In short it says aquatic vegetation inhibits cyanobacteria by means of excreting phenol-tannin complexes that destroy their cells. Sounds like allelopathy to me. But the article does not mention any check with active carbon. Do you think this is accurate information? Would the same mechanism be behind the control of true algae, BBA, GDA, etc.? The way we see in well functioning planted tanks?
