I am trying to order a c02 setup actually I already ordered one but cannot figure out why I get no responses or help. My guess is its plot error on my part or something. The site isn't all that user newbie friendly so I think I am doing something wrong.

TBH the activity on this site is not as strong as it used to be.

No secret batcode is required, what are you trying to accomplish with Excel, and we know nothing about the CO2 setup you are trying to order.

I'd recommend starting a journal, post some pics of your tank so others will see what you are growing.
Post as many water parameters you are able to measure.
Fert dosing description and type of compounds used.
Lighting description, length of photo-period, PAR data if available.

After these first few posts in the journal begin asking questions.
Responses will be better since your total setup is in plain view to all.

Human life awesome my CO2 is a green leaf GRO the lower end model but still 300 dollars put on my gravestone death by wife when it arrives. The lights are 2 fluval 3.0 and the tank is 25 inches deep. Water parameters are on the hard side 7.4ish im in Colorado typical for here. Length of phot period is 8 hours starting at noon till 12 to 8 o'clock at night. Fert dosing is Niclog PPS PRO daily. I am also using excel until the CO2 gets here to try and combat the algae a bit. I know I am clueless here trust me but hope you people can steer me the right direction. I really want to post a picture but for the life of me it is on my computer I don't have a URL link what or how do I do it? I figured it out there is hope for me after all:)

Thank you all so much

Don

Looks like BGA, blue green algae.
If it is ChemiClean from Boyd chemicals should clear this up.
I would not use erythromycin on this algae/bacteria.

Well trust me I have been humbled but am determined to succeed I have been doing fish since i was 5 now im 57 old and determined! I think your are right and think it is most likely blue green algae. Are 2 fluvall 3.0 lights to much without C02 ? The C02 system from green leaf aquariums is coming this Tuesday. The tank is very deep 25 inches height wise and depth wise 24 inches but feel confident I have all the elements in place to really screw it up now. I figured forget all the gimmicks or the use excel for C02 and just get all the pieces in place then dial things in. Thanks to anyone for your help!

The addition of CO2 will complement any planted tank.
At present you don't have a lot of plants by any means.
PPS Pro daily is most likely fine for this tank, now add a lot of plants & CO2 and you may need more.

Regarding your lighting, I looked for PAR data on a fluval 3.0 and didn't find anything I trusted.
Guessing would be 40-50 @ substrate with 2 of them but I could be very wrong.
25" is a deep tank, I've always built my own LED pucks and am not familiar with the marketplace on lighting.

Excel IMHO is more of an algaecide.
I use a mix for a plant dip and sometimes dose the entire tank, not often though.

Don't feel bad, I am presently involved in an algae mess.
No chemicals will treat it and plant loss is inevitable @ this point.

Would 40- 50 par which I think is most likely what I have going is similar to what Aquarium CO-OP came up with for a 24 inch deep tank for one fixture be considered a high light tank then? Sorry for all the plant newbie questions and thanks very much for your help.

Have these lights! My tank was 21 inches deep. Lights mounted directly to rim, no risers. Apogee Par meter put the two at 50-80 par DIRECTLY below the lights at substrate and around 200 par right under surface of the water DIRECTLY under the lights. And I mean that meter was right below them. However moving off center even an inch had a sharp drop off of 40+ par which got worse the father from the lights. I found these lights, even running two, to be too weak for high demand stems and Co2 at my depth of 25 inch deep tank 21 inches from water surface to substrate. It did not have a linear drop at all, very unforgiving, off center or closer to substrate had very sharp drops. IMO humble opinion the lights are more suited for shallow tanks. My profile pic is the Petco Basic with the two fluvals. Notice all low light plants, tank was low tech. It worked well there.

I am assuming we are not comparing apples to apples here or I hope so my tank is 36 inches long 24 inches wide 25 inches deep. I will be deeply disappointed if 350 dollars worth of fluval 3.0 lights cant grow stems with C02. I have 2 finnex stingrays I could throw on there 36 inch but at some point I have to say enough is enough. I do super appreciate the advice I have gotten here the fight continues!!

Exact same tank, but it was 21 inches from surface of water to substrate because I had several inches of substrate. I moved them over to my 29 gallon low tech for a few months and found them to be more than adequate at less than 18 inches deep. In fact green spot formed near the top of the glass where they overhung. The 90 now a reef tank. But I opted for the SB planted on my new cube, and second running was the AI primes. Best of luck to you!

You need to clean the algae off, then do a water change directly after a good clean. Add some flourish excel daily. And do 3 water changes a week so a while to help keep control of the algae issue. You also need to add some more fast growing plants or some floating plants would help too.
