-with light 25%PRA 50%PRA 75%PRA 100%PRA corresponds to
-how many lumens.from the lamp to the soil

Now I know how much PRA the light is using
-light for the plant tank
-light low =? PRA
-light medium =? PRA
-high light =? PRA

Good questions!

Assuming you measure your PAR at the bottom of your tank, here are the general value-ranges in those 3 categories:

- Low light: 40 PAR or less
- Medium light: 40-60 PAR
- High light: 60 or more

I hope this helps! In my case, I am in the medium-high range with around 60-65 PAR at the bottom.

Fab, great to see your tank doing so well. And I was surprised that you are still adding 0.06 ppm of Boron each week, despite having high levels in your tap. I went cold turkey on boron and saw immediate improvement in some plants, like AR regular. It finally grew vertically for the first time in 2-3 years, actually. I still have some issues with plants not growing and collecting GDA, like Acmella Repens and Persicaria SP. Even after major trims and cleaning, plus high CO2.

Thank you Andy, yes, it's strange I need to keep B so low... but it works for me ;)

I am sorry you still have issues with some plants. I still can't figure out why you have those issues. Since I started making my own traces and stopped using Plantex, all problems disappeared. Yes, I may have some GSA here and there sometimes, and some BBA somewhere on some old moss, but nothing to complain about, plants grow well. I am attaching a recent picture of the tank, right before trimming:

Man.... What a journey!
WHAT A JOURNEY!!!!
Really great work!!! The best thing of all it paid off and you finnaly got what you wanted!
I read this thread like a book (believe it or not)!!

Warning: stupid question incoming..!
How do you trim your plants?
I've been zooming in like crazy to see the stems where you cut them and couldnt see any. So I was wondering if you just replant in front to hide that?

Thank you so much! Yes, a long journey, if you think I began playing with planted tank in 1984, you have no idea how many plants I have killed ;)

To answer your question (funny warning!): I usually cut the stems at the very bottom (1-2 inches from the substrate) and put the tops back into the substrate. That's probably why you can't see the bottom parts. As you guessed correctly, I do that for hiding the cut stems, they sprout again anyway!
