I want to buy a PAR meter because I think it can help me know what I'm doing when it comes to light.

I have an ATI dimmable screen with 4 T5 80W tubes.

I've looked at the Apogee MQ-510 and also looking the Seneye Reef Monitor.

The Apogee seems to be a better industrial grade meter. I only could find the MQ-500 here in Spain and it's around 700€. Very expensive. I could buy the sensor and use a multimeter but I could imstead buy the seneye that costs 360€.

Calibrating the sensor can only be done in the USA so I would to send it from Europe.

The Seneye also calculates PUR and has other uses. Additionally it displays a spectrogram that seems interesting. It needs a computer though. I don't know about the calibration on this one.

I don't have any aquarists club near where I live that I can borrow a PAR meter from.

Anyone can give more info on the PAR meters mentioned or any other ones?

What would you recommend that it's easily available in Europe?

They're not cheap so I'd like to choose wisely.

Thanks!

I won't write a speech here.
Bought the Seneye two years ago and installed the version 2.0 upgrade, I'm happy!
Me too!

I happened to find mine used on an auction site. Either way well worth the investment.

Does it need a monthly subscription or is that only for the server package?

Do you use it just for the light?

Thanks!
