Hi everyone!

I'm fairly new to planted tanks and fish keeping in general. Over the last six months or so I've started a 90gal tank where I'm keeping a variety of Rainbow fish, and quite a few live plants. I thought it would be easy lol. I'm excited to learn from you all I can and get my plants growing well. I'll be asking a lot of questions

Hi Rmerriett. Welcome to the forum! Planted tank can be as easy or as difficult as we want to make them.

Plant selection and that itch to find out how things work, tweak a little bit here and there... these things make planted tanks much more difficult. Luckily, many members here have tweaked almost all variables and are able to grow even very difficult plants...so ask at every step.

Rich looking forward to seeing/learning more about your tank. I've been keeping Rainbows for a good long time, and even a few plants too!

You should consider starting a journal, as I'm sure others would like to follow your journey.

And ask away, lots of experienced plant keepers lurking around here.

I've thought about that. Just not sure where to start with it. I knew I wanted Rainbows, and excellent strains of them from Gary Lang. I currently have Bossmani, turquoise, dority, m.Parva, goyder river, yellow, and kamaka rainbows. Trying to get a nice dence planted tank for them. So far not so good on that front, which is why I'm here. About six months ago I started and dove head first into a hobby I didn't know much about. All in, go big or go home right lol. I also have a batch of Gary Lang strain Bossmani (100 or more) 3 month old fry. Im learning a lot the hard way i suppose.
